Sealed-off CW CO2 laser tunable over lines of the first two bands of a sequence
Abstract
Seventy two emission lines have been observed in the second band of a sequence in a CW sealed-off CO2 laser system based on a standard laser. The output power for the strongest lines was 1.5-2 W. The results were achieved without optimizing the laser resonator or its active medium. The experiments have demonstrated that it is possible to arrange simultaneous emission at lines of two bands of a sequence in a CW laser. The output power can be redistributed smoothly among the bands of the sequence by adjusting the pressure in a resonator cell containing heated CO2.
