Study of temperature-sensitive elements for detecting weak pulses in the IR
Abstract
The noise levels of photomultipliers and temperature-sensitive elements are compared. An equation is given for the threshold sensitivy of the thermoelement. The possibility of detecting weak IR radiation pulses with cooled temperature-sensitive elements is demonstrated. An experimental method of increasing the response speed of the temperature-sensitive elements and a computational method of determining the time constants of the radiation pulse are proposed.
