CW laser with optical-waveguide resonator
Abstract
The paper reports the construction of a CW garnet laser the resonator of which has a multimode quartz optical-waveguide insert. It is shown that the waveguide resonator is characterized by strong mode selection with respect to transverse indices. Small changes of the resonator configuration make it possible to adjust the laser from one transverse mode to another. During this process, a single-mode regime, corresponding to the selected waveguide mode, is excited in the multimode fiber.
