The physics of layered semiconductor systems
Abstract
Research on physical properties and processes associated with layered semiconductor systems is summarized with particular reference to thin films, surface and subsurface layers, multiphase systems, and strongly anisotropic layered semiconductors. Attention is given to the principal techniques of structure formation, structure analysis, concentration effects, scattering processes, and photoelectric, luminescent, and optical properties. Promising areas of further research are discussed including collective phenomena and superconductivity.
