The optoacoustic effect in the infrared: some applications
Abstract
Several applications of the optoacoustic effect in the infrared are described. Consideration is given to the use of this effect for Fourier spectroscopy, optical pumping of FIR gas lasers (e.g., in pump frequency monitors and transparent power monitors), and for the detection of subsurface structures in metals through imaging.
