Adaptive techniques in radar signal processing
Abstract
It is noted that attempts are now being made to incorporate full space-time adaptivity in radar signal processing. The paper reviews the most important contributions made in the last decade in this area and their possible effects on future radar system design. It is concluded that although partial adaptivity making use of the theoretical results is being considered in such areas as airborne MTI, or in adaptive MTI against weather clutter, the full impact of adaptive techniques will depend on further developments in the areas of convergence rate, solid state T-R modules up to X-band and VLSI devices for processors.
