Computer analysis of nonlinear networks with lossy distributed-parameter lines
Abstract
A computer-aided method is developed for simulating nonlinear networks containing lossy distributed-parameter lines, and the effect of the line parameters on the network behavior is examined. This method is easily applicable to complicated networks by using the coefficients of the line constants and the phase delay. The simulation error due to the effect of the delay wave can be within several percent and the computation time also can be reduced if the effect of the delay for up to 100 steps is taken into consideration. In addition, the transient time, pulse rise and fall times, and the traveling wave decay are calculated by changing the distributed parameters from the distortionless condition. Advantages of the method include the ability to analyze any nonlinear characteristic of the network, as well as the capacity to analyze both branch and mesh-type large-scale networks.
