Solution of heat-conduction problems by the method of discrete Z-transformation
Abstract
The present analysis deals with the application of discrete Z-transforms to the solution of the heat conduction problem for a plate for various boundary conditions. It is shown that this approach provides a reduction in computational labor for problems where the requirement is to determine the changes in temperature at a finite number of spots over the plate thickness. This feature of the solution is advantageous in the case where the thermal state of structural members is subjected to automatic control.
