Corporate and tandem structures for combining power from 3N and 2N+1 oscillators
Abstract
A method is presented for combining power from multiple oscillators by using short-slot couplers in conjunction with high-level injection locking. In the experiments involving 3-oscillator, 9-oscillator corporate, and 9- and 13-oscillator tandem structures with X-band Gunn diodes, power-combining efficiencies of 100, 92, 95, and 93% have been demonstrated, respectively, at 9.6-9.7 GHz.
