Resonant frequencies of rectangular dielectric resonators
Abstract
A dielectric waveguide model for predicting resonant frequencies in a rectangular dielectric resonator is described. The two approximate waveguide treatments of a rectangular dielectric rod, proposed by Marcatili (1969) and Knox and Toulios (1970), respectively, are introduced in the model. The agreement between theoretical predictions and experimental data is satisfactory for most engineering purposes.
