High-accuracy wide-range measurement method for determination of complex permittivity in reentrant cavity. I - Theoretical analysis of the method. II - Experimental analysis of measurement errors
Abstract
A mathematical method for the determination of the complex electric permittivity of a wide range of materials from the direct measured parameters of a reentrant cavity is analyzed. An accurate solution relative to the resonance condition is obtained using a study of the electromagnetic field distribution in the cavity with a sample. In addition, an experimental analysis of the measurement error is presented, showing that the proposed method allows for permittivity measurements in a wide range of materials.
