Frame synchronization techniques
Abstract
The criteria for a good frame synchronization system are outlined in order to examine present day theories. The problem of frame synchronization for a single-channel digital communication system is considered and the efficiency and utility of several marker designs are assessed. More exotic frame techniques with emphasis on comma-free encoding are also assessed, and a discussion of a proposed combination of concepts is included.
