Monolithic components for 100 MHz data conversion
Abstract
There is an increasing demand for analog to digital converters (ADCs) having sample rates in the 100-MHz region. The paper describes a device which is a 4-bit expandable ADC chip capable of sample rates of over 100 MHz. By employing an array of these devices in parallel, systems up to 8 bits can be constructed. Essential to these high speeds are a fast bipolar process and a design approach taking every advantage of the components available.
