Proton loss function in atomic oxygen
Abstract
A study is made of the proton loss function in atomic oxygen based on the more appropriate differential ionization and stripping cross-sections. The previous theoretical calculations are based on arbitrary assumption of the exponential shape of the differential stripping cross-sections. It is now shown that the differential stripping cross-section is not exponential in nature. A significant change in the loss function is found by using the new differential ionization and stripping cross-sections.
