Effect of HF noise in correlation analysis of spaced receiver experiments
Abstract
The effects of high frequency (HF) noise in the auto- and cross-correlation functions of spaced receiver amplitude fading and scintillation records are studied. Although drift speed remains unaffected, there could be considerable underestimation of the size of the ground diffraction pattern. It is determined that if all the parameters are to be evaluated correctly, the normalization of the auto- and cross-correlation functions is necessary.
