The determination of diffusivity and specific heat on the basis of transitory thermokinetic evolution
Abstract
The dynamics of heat exchange in a material are studied, considering the symmetric mode of representing heat quantity and the antisymmetric mode of representing heat flux. A general analytic expression for the thermokinetic evolution of the specimen-fluxmeter system in the variable regime is established, and a method for identifying the specimen response is proposed. The analytical expressions representing the response were used to represent the thermokinetic evolution as a function of the variation of applied temperatures. It is suggested that the mathematical treatment of thermokinetic evolution applied to metrology has the advantage of eliminating the difficult experimental problem of conductivity under steady state conditions.
