X-Ray Nova
Abstract
M. Oda and the Hakucho Team, University of Tokyo, telex: "Hakucho discovered that an x-ray nova is active at R.A. = 5h28m +/- 8m, Decl. = +28o +/- 2o. The error region includes the recurrent x-ray transient A0535+262, which is believed to be an x-ray pulsar with a period of ~ 104 s and to be associated with HDE 245770. The x-ray flux at 1-12 keV was about the same as the Crab on Oct. 2 and increased to about 2 Crab on Oct. 7. The source had been out of the detector field until Oct. 2."
