Calculation of viscous incompressible fluid flows by the splitting method
Abstract
The paper deals with an approach to the calculation of viscous incompressible flows, which consists of integrating the complete system of unsteady-state Navier-Stokes equations written in a form where the velocity components are determined from the equations of motion and the pressure from a Poisson-type equation. Some numerical results of the solution of the problem for small Reynolds numbers in the gap between two plane-parallel plates, obtained by an implicit version of the splitting method, are examined.
