Technology for digital processing of photoimages
Abstract
Large geometric distortions are characteristic of photographic images obtained by space photography. It is shown that computer processing of photographic images helps to eliminate geometric and photographic distortions. A photomap plotting from pictures with arbitrary orientation elements is used to describe the main principles of this method. A general problem of computer image transformation is considered, and the main stages of photomap plotting by computer are briefly discussed, including preparatory procedures, formation of basic data for computer conversion of images, construction of a numerical photomap model, and photomap output.
