Ein Verfahren zur Vergrößerung des Dynamikbereiches bei analoger Signalaufzeichnung
Abstract
An electronic transformation-procedure is proposed, expanding the usuable dynamic-range by decreasing the noise-level for small signals. The method is especially adapted for recording analog measurement signals. The given procedure depends on the properties of modulation at a special type of nonlinear characteristics. Characteristic curves are analyzed theoretically; one of them is verified in experiment. In general, there is an increase of noise for large signals while noise is decreasing for small ones, just as intended. The frequency-range must be larger when recording the transformed signals, compared to the conditions in direct recording. An upper limit is given for the increase in frequency-range.
