Theoretical and experimental study of the scroll diode characteristics under steady conditions
Abstract
An experimental and theoretical study of the characteristics of a fluidic scroll diode was performed under steady conditions. It was assumed that the diodicity is an unknown function of the Reynolds number, the aspect ratio, and the two angles involved. The results indicated that the diodicity is almost independent of the Reynolds number, and that the best performances, by means of the highest diodicity, may be achieved with an aspect ratio of 2.0, phi = 0 deg and epsilon = 30 deg.
