A natural and a forced jet reattachment to a short side wall
Abstract
The analytical model of a fluid-jet reattaching to a sidewall of finite length is presented. A flow state is defined in three regions according to the length of the sidewall. A criterion is proposed for prediction of a forced reattachment limit. It is noted that the reattaching jet phenomenon is bistable and could be applied to fluid amplifiers.
