A method of solving the system of equations of radiation kinetics
Abstract
A technique is proposed for separating the system of equations describing the population of an excited state and the line intensity. It is based on the application of the Planck and Rosseland approximations for various frequency ranges within the limits of the absorption line profile. Using this approach, the evolution of the density of excited atoms within a gas layer or a nonequilibrium plasma layer can be described by a simple diffusion-type differential equation.
