Calculation of impulse response of multimode optical fibre
Abstract
The present communication reports a simple, fast method of calculating the impulse response of a multimode optical fiber of arbitrary index profile. This method does not require the evaluation of the caustics and is applicable to any profile. In many cases, the method leads to simple analytical expressions which provide a more complete understanding of the impulse-response formation.
