Synthesis of surface acoustic wave filters by means of linear programming
Abstract
The use of linear programming methods for the synthesis of SAW bandpass filters is described, the basic goal of the synthesis being the reduction of amplitude/frequency response nonuniformity in the stop and pass bands. A modified simplex procedure, which simplifies and speeds up the computational process, was used to solve the linear programming problem. The performance of the method is illustrated by several examples, and it is shown that the method can be used to synthesize filters with asymmetric amplitude/frequency response.
