Operation of free-electron laser at large gains
Abstract
A theoretical analysis of the high-gain operation of a free electron laser is presented. The laser process is investigated in the single-particle approximation, in which electrons interact with one another through the electromagnetic wave and in which the electrostatic interaction between beam electrons is neglected. Results on output signal relationships are presented.
