Orthocomp Z 2, the analytical orthoprojector from Carl Zeiss
Abstract
The Orthocomp Z 2 is described, showing that the system is controlled by an HP 1000 minicomputer and that the optical transformation is effected on the principle of differential first-order rectification (secants). Attention is given to the programs which are based on an analytical mathematical model which permits the use of either model or terrain profiles. It is shown that the SCAN main program controls the rectification of vertical and oblique photographs and of panoramic photographs. Further, the parameters of exterior orientation can be determined with the aid of the ORIENT program. Also discussed are the PRINT, PARAMETER, DENSITY, LIST, and HIFI programs. It is concluded the system is ideally suited for rapid, economical and autonomous production of high-grade photomaps.
