On the mass balance equation for a pump system operating in the dynamic regime with reverse flows
Abstract
The mass balance equation accounting for the density of the gaseous phase for a pump system operating in the dynamic regime with cavitation in the reverse flow zone is obtained. It is found that at high pump entrance pressures oscillations of the cavity volume in the reverse flow zone take place with constant intensity. At low pump entrance pressures the cavity volume in the reverse flow zone varies in proportion to the propagation distance.
