The impulse response of piezoelectric thickness-vibrators
Abstract
Based on electric network theory, an analytical representation of the impulse response of a strictly piezoelectric thickness vibrator is given, with the aid of Laplace transformation, for the open-circuit and short-circuit operation of the electric port. In both these cases the impulse response can be described in two completely different ways: on the one hand by the infinitely many eigenvalues of the transfer function and on the other hand by an infinite series of equidistant delta pulses. For the short-circuit operation the exact solution is described in the form of an infinite sum of convolution products from an approximation and a corrective function.
