A chaotic universe, Friedman in the mean. I - Statistical equations
Abstract
The evolution of a chaotic universe that admits a statistical description is analyzed. The universe is assumed to be homogeneous and isotropic only on scales much larger than the scale of averaging. Exact statistical equations are derived from the Einstein equations, and equations are obtained for a Friedmann-mean universe in the quasi-linear approximation. The latter are solved for an arbitrary equation of state.
