On the secular variation of the angular velocity of rotation of the earth about its axis
Abstract
The differential equations of motion of the 'earth-sun-moon' system were integrated over a 100-year interval. The table of values of the angle of proper rotation of the earth thus obtained was treated by the method of least squares with the condition that the angular acceleration is constant. The value of the constant equals 0.66 x 10 to the -11th per day-squared.
