Galactic HI at |b| >= 10 deg. II. Photographic Presentation of the Combined Southern and Northern Data.
Abstract
A southern HI survey, performed at the Instituto Argentino de Radioastronomia, has been combined with the northern survey which was performed at Hat Creek. The overall distribution of HI in the sky is described. The most striking feature in the southern sky is a large expanding shell of HI, some 90° in angular diameter, which is associated with radio loop I and polarization of starlight.
