General aspects of telemetry and remote control
Abstract
An introduction to the basic principles of telemetry and remote control is given. Digital and analog telemetry are defined, and the pulse code modulation codes most frequently encountered in telemetry are presented. Characteristics of telemetry signals are discussed, together with data recording and processing technique. Special attention is given to equipment for processing pulse code modulation and phase shift keying telemetry. Telemetry signals are compared to command guidance signals.
