Prediction model for the pdf of turbulent temperature fluctuations in a heated round jet
Abstract
The transport equation for the onepoint probability density function (pdf) of a bounded and strictly conserved scalar (temperature) in a nonhomogeneous turbulent shear flow was closed and the modeled equations solved numerically together with a twoequation model of turbulence. It is shown that the solution represents well the pdf of the scalar even in the intermittent region of the jet.
