A procedure has been developed which allows to measure all the halogen elements F, Cl, Br and I on the same sub-sample. Halogen elements in both undifferentiated and differentiated meteorites have been determined. Normalized to Si 1,000,000 atoms, the following values have been deduced for the primordial abundance of the halogen elements: F 780, Cl 4740, Br 9.2 and I 1.27, respectively. In the case of fluorine results are generally considerably lower than those of previous workers; only for carbonaceous chondrites similar low F concentrations were reported by Goldberg et al., (1974).
