Complex envelope simulation of scatter channels
Abstract
A two-dimensional simulation technique for synthesizing asymmetric Doppler-shifted narrowband Gaussian channels has been developed. The technique accounts for asymmetry and Doppler shift in the spectrum of the received baseband process. Two examples of first and second order complex filters are presented in order to show that by varying the complex poles of the filter, it is possible to obtain different spectral shapes. These shapes can be asymmetrical and/or Doppler-shifted as evidenced in scattering functions obtained by the RAKE tropospheric scatter technique.
