Experimental results of the Japanese BSE program
Abstract
The Japanese experimental medium scale broadcasting satellite, a three axis stabilized spacecraft having a sun-oriented solar array, is described. Attention is given to such aspects as system parameters, communications subsystem and attitude control system. Also described are the main transmit and receive station, the transportable transmit and receive station, the receive only stations, and simple receive stations. Experimental results cover evaluations of broadcasting service area, experiments on TV signal transmissions, radiowave propagation, operation and control of satellite, and on satellite signal reception.
