Determination of optimal two-impulse coplanar transfer between weakly elliptical orbits
Abstract
Kovalenko and Korolev (1978) have derived a closed sixth-order system of equations describing the fuel-optimal coplanar elliptical orbital transfer in a central gravitational field. In the present paper, this system of equations is used as a basis to obtain an approximate solution for such transfers in the case of small orbital eccentricities. The solution is obtained in the form of a series of a small parameter.
