Simultaneous particle size and velocity measurements in postflame gases
Abstract
An optical arrangement is described for simultaneous particle size and velocity measurements using the Laser-Two-Focus (L-2-F) technique in combination with the Multiple-Ratio-Single-Particle Counter (MRSPC). Preliminary measurements behind sooting butane flames and comparison with conventional velocity probing and impactor-type particle counters illustrate the advantages of the technique.
