Laser velocimetry in RF plasmas
Abstract
Mean velocities and fluctuating velocities in an argon/helium RF plasma were measured by means of a high-power LDA system. Low-power measurements were also made but accurate mean velocities of the plasma itself were not obtained due to velocity slip of the large particles needed to give adequate scattering. Finally, by coupling high-power LDA measurements and dynamic pressure measurements, atom temperatures were also obtained by a new set of local methods.
