Measurement and interpretation of the gravity field of the oceans
Abstract
Experiments carried out at the Goddard Space Flight Center on the interpretation of the largest gravity anomalies of the oceans from satellite data are described. The anomalies are determined using data on geopotential, attractive force, and deviation from the normal. Recommendations on the choice of the most noise-immune derivatives during the measurement of anomalies via accelerometer systems are presented.
