Protection against laser beams
Abstract
In addition to the knowledge of existing regulations, and the requirements of classification, safety measures pertaining to the apparatus and the organizational aspects are necessary in order to minimize the hazards that are inherent in lasers. It is shown that initially efforts will be made to make the laser system itself as safe as possible. The remaining hazards must be minimized through appropriate precautions in the vicinity, which includes the area surrounding the laser and the laboratory, buildings and the outer environment, according to the current technological knowledge.
