Speed control of electrical pumps in aircraft and military vehicle applications
Abstract
Two speed control techniques for electrical pumps in aircraft and military vehicle applications are described: a PWM chopper technique and an invertor technique. Both techniques are able to satisfy the wide input specification for such applications. The hydraulic output is maintained well within acceptable limits, without the need for bypass valves. Power savings of up to 62% for the chopper have been demonstrated.
