Bipolar and F.E.T. power amplifier for a 2.6 GHz community television transponder
Abstract
The paper presents the design of high-gain, high-power transistor amplifiers for a community broadcast transponder operating in the frequency range 2.5 to 2.69 GHz. A class C amplifier employing four internally matched bipolar transistors, generating 50 W output power is used in a television channel. In a sound channel, a linear amplifier is used which includes four paralleled FETs to provide the 10 W of output power with low intermodulation product levels.
