One-dimensional digital signal processing
Abstract
Digital spectral analysis, design of digital filters, and statistical methods are the three major parts of the book. In the first part, the concept of spectrum for analog and digital signals is introduced. Consideration is given to the choice of sampling frequency and the problems associated with the conversion of analog and digital signals. The use of the fast Fourier transform (FFT) is outlined for computing spectra of signals, time signals from spectra, and Fourier series for periodic functions. In the second part, the class of linear time-invariant digital filters is developed and the design of FIR and IIR filters is analyzed. After introducing basic concepts of statistical methods in the third part, error analysis, spectral measurement of random signals, and the design of optimal filters are discussed.
