Review of spectrum analysis with SAW chirp transforms and filter banks
Abstract
The use of SAW devices for spectrum analysis is reviewed with emphasis placed on their impact on intercept receivers. Following a discussion of intercept receiver requirements and architecture, the use of SAW filters in channelized receivers is described. The chirp Fourier transform algorithm is discussed and shown to be the basis of a compressive receiver. The architecture and performance of a large time-bandwidth correlator based on the use of chirp transform networks are presented.
