Failure mode analysis of the Meteosat pin diode variable phase shifter using a microwave CAD program
Abstract
A complete failure mode analysis of the pin diode variable phase shifter embarked on METEOSAT satellite has been performed. The degradation of the performance has been simulated for short and open circuit failure cases by means of the ESA developed microwave CAD program, ESAMEC, which includes a four port hybrid element in a nodal formulation.
