Anisotropic equilibria of a highbeta Tokamak with noncircular crosssection
Abstract
The characteristics of the highBeta Tokamak equilibrium with noncircular crosssection and anisotropic pressure are studied analytically. The equilibrium Beta sub p limit defined by effective pressure (p parallel + p perpendicular)/2 does not depend on pressure anisotropy, however toroidal mass flow leads to the reduction of the critical Beta sub p value of the noncircular Tokamak.
