Analysis of the interaction of a laser beam with a metal
Abstract
A mathematical model is proposed for the interaction of a laser beam with a metal surface at beam intensities at which the temperature in the light absorption zone exceeds the critical temperature of the metal. The conductivity and the equations of state of the metal are described on the basis of experimental data, using interpolation formulas. Some numerical results obtained on the basis of the model are examined.
