Neodymium-glass laser with a reflecting plasmaoptical Q-switch
Abstract
Some basic characteristics of processes occurring in laser systems with plasma reflectors are examined, and experiments in which a laser plasma was used to control the laser action of the laser itself are discussed. It is shown that a plasma that performs the functions of a mirror resonator, at the same time incorporates the properties of an optical Q-switch and of a nonlinear mode-locking element.
